RSE et Service Public : quelle(s) articulation(s) ? Le cas de l’entreprise France Télécom

Abstract : Today, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Public Service logics, are sprea- ding within the management of for-pro t public service networks in France (EDF, France Telecom, la SNCF...) ; networks that have been historically privatized or on the way to beco- ming The aim of this research is to bring an understanding to how these logics are opposed, juxtaposed and articulated in a managerial context that is dominated by a logic of maximized shareholder value progressively. In this perspective, we create several scenarios implemen- ting of CSR approach(s). Them, we study in depth the case of company France Telecom and of its CRS approach. Our results indicate that the o cial CSR approach for France Telecom is disconnected from public service logics, placing more importance on short term logics. Ne- vertheless, in a decentralized and autonomous way, innovative CSR initiatives progressively emerge... Some are based on the spirit of Public Service, while seeking to improve the pro - tability of the company.
