L’objet identité : épistémologie et transversalité
Résumé
The purpose of this collection is to investigate the dialectical relation between the subject's subjectivity and the object identity from both an epistemological and a political standpoint. By confronting the object identity with the researchers' subjectivity, the authors embrace an introspection, both epistemological and self-reflexive, about their diciplinary praxis so as to find out and possibly question the personal material — be it racial, gender-related, sexual, or cultural — that the practioners of their discipline or themselves may project onto the object of their analysis. The collection unfolds through the following stages. The first part deals with the hierarchy of identities and their systematized interaction for securing domination. The second part examines the different epistemological caesurae which are supposed to discard political domination but which could very well reveal themselves as theoretical and discursive weapons revived for the sake of power. Is the creation of new identities by crossing national cultures and thus unbinding individualities a plausible way out? How can the complexity of identities be reappraised through geographical and disciplinary cross-perspectives? This is the theme of the third part, while the fourth and last examines concurrently how subjective and artistic strategies — such as black queer subjectivity — can dismantle reductive theoretical systems and their political facets.

Le propos de cet ouvrage collectif est de se pencher sur la nouvelle configuration épistémologique de l'objet identité induite par l'émergence et la consolidation de champs du savoir tels que les études du genre, africaines américaines ou LGBTQ. Outre l'examen critique des conditions, possibilités et limites qu'offre une approche transdisciplinaire, ce recueil accorde une place particulière à la réflexivité et à la part de subjectivité animant le chercheur dans sa relation à son objet d'étude dans les disciplines des sciences humaines. A la lumière des points aveugles des champs émergents, il s'agit également de se demander si penser l'identité aujourd'hui aboutit inévitablement à de nouvelles formes de réification et de domination. La première partie du recueil est consacrée à la mathématique identitaire : la hiérarchie, l'interaction, la mise en concurrence des identités. Dans la deuxième partie, les chercheurs s'intéressent à la rupture épistémologique et à ses possibles effets sur la domination politique. La troisième partie met en perspective les traversées disciplinaires et géographiques pour souligner la complexité des constructions identitaires tandis que la quatrième confronte les représentations artistiques queer et les systèmes théoriques définissant l'identité.
