Analyser des pétitions en ligne : potentialités et limites d'un dispositif d'étude pluridisciplinaire

Abstract : Online petitions are a worthy object of research, from the perspective of discursive materiality or of their relationship with the political process. However, this object happens to be difficult to grasp, considering how diverse data and variables may be. Analyzing an online petitioning website therefore outlines the heteorogeneity of topics, titles or texts of petitions, as well as number signatures or comments. To investigate this tool, the researcher must make choices and use several tools of statistical textual analysis in order to uncover what characterizes petitions, while taking their diversity into account.
