Abstract : The effects of compressibility and velocity and thermal slips are studied by numerical simulations for an argon flow in isothermal or adiabatic micro channels of length 2,8 or 15 mm and height 28 µm, for Knudsen numbers between 0,001 and 0,1 and pressure differences between 0,003 and 0,5 bar. The results are compared with an isothermal and compressible analytical model and with experiments. The compressibility effects are shown to be important only when the relative pressure difference between inlet and outlet is greater than 150%. The thermal slip effect is shown to appear only at channel outlet when gas expansion is high.
