Realistic rendering with turbulent flows

Abstract : This paper focuses on realistic rendering of scenes which include turbulent flows. In this respect we suggest solving the Navier-Stokes equations through a simple approach which offers better steadiness than classical methods. Then we adapt a ray-tracing algorithm to treat convection motions by deflecting ray paths: we obtain effects of rendering through heat. Copyright (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
