A survey of discrete shape analysis for computer imagery

Abstract : This paper gives a survey of shape representation techniques for discrete image analysis based on discrete geometry and topology. With the historical backgrounds, six different techniques such as set, functional, graph, topological, distance and analytic representations are introduced. Their relationships and evaluation criteria are also shown.
